Natural gas rebates
Now is the time to change to gas, take advantage of natural gas rebates!
Did you know that you could be eligible for a hot water or appliance rebate? Or that you could get a rebate of $1000 if you connect your existing home to natural gas for the very first time and switch to natural gas hot water?
Australian Gas Networks is offering the following rebates to customers in SA:
- $500 for installing natural gas hot water, major natural gas heating (e.g. gas log fire or space heater, gas ducted heating), natural gas pool or spa heating
- $100 for installing any other natural gas appliance
- Plus, there’s a $500 new connection bonus on offer! (for existing homes, only)

New Gas Connections
If you’re just in the middle of connecting your existing home to natural gas for the first time (or only recently connected to gas), did you know you could claim a $500 connection bonus from Australian Gas Networks? Plus, you could also claim a $500 rebate for each individual gas appliance listed below:
- Natural gas hot water system
- Natural gas flued room heating
- Natural gas ducted heating
- Natural gas pool heating and spa heating
A $100 rebate applies for subsequent units that are installed.
You could also qualify for a $100 rebate for each of the following appliances:
- Barbecue
- Cooktop, oven or combination cooker
- Clothes dryer
- Gas-boosted solar hot water
- Outside heating appliances, e.g. radiant patio heaters
- Pizza ovens and more
Existing Gas Connections
If your home is already connected to natural gas (this means you’ve had gas connected for 6 months or longer), you could still be eligible for rebates of up to $500, depending on what appliance you install. Feel free to contact us if you’d like to check what you can claim. As a guide, here are the appliances you could claim a rebate of up to $500 for:
- Natural gas hot water
- Natural gas pool heating and spa heating
- Natural gas flued room heating or ducted heating (these particular rebates are only available for a limited time, from 1 March 2022 to 31 July 2022)
You could also qualify for a $100 rebate for installing additional units of the above, or for installing these natural gas appliances:
- Barbecue
- Cooktop, oven or combination cooker
- Clothes dryer
- Gas-boosted solar hot water
- Outside heating appliances, e.g. radiant patio heaters
- Pizza ovens and more
These same rebates apply if you’re converting LPG appliances to natural gas.
New build Homes
While the majority of the rebates offered by Australian Gas Networks are for existing homes, new builds in SA have special access to select rebates. (shh… don’t tell the other states!)
If you are building your dream home or you’ve just moved into your new build, you can qualify for a $500 rebate if you install any of the following appliances:
- Natural gas flued room heating
- Natural gas ducted heating
- Natural gas pool heating and natural gas spa heating
In addition, you could also claim a $100 rebate for installing these natural gas appliances:
- Barbecue
- Outside heating appliances, e.g. radiant patio heaters
- Alfresco cooking appliances, e.g. pizza ovens, outdoor cooktop/wok
